Median income (before tax)
Pre-tax income of the adult exactly in the middle of the distribution. WID pre-tax national income per adult at PPP — before taxes and most transfers, so not the same as take-home pay.
Not to be confused with Median income (after tax). That one is household income after tax and transfers, from the OECD; this one is income before tax, per adult, from the World Inequality Database. The two cover different sets of countries.
